Bistro Birg sits at the 2,677 m mid-station of the Schilthorn line, one stop above Mürren. One Supermarket for the Whole Village
Coop Supermarkt Mürren is at Borthalten 1032, 3825 Mürren, phone +41 33 225 29 70, open daily 08:00-18:30. That single store is the confirmed supermarket supply for a village with no road access, where every crate arrives by cableway. Migros and Volg were both checked through their own store locators and neither returns a Mürren branch, so Coop is it.

Picnic Food for the Ridge and the Via Ferrata
Self-catering is not just a budget move here, it is a practical one. The Mürren-Gimmelwald Via Ferrata is about 2.2 km and free to use from June 1 to October 31, with gear rental extra, and there is no restaurant bolted onto the route. The same applies to long stretches of the ridge walks.
