It stands in the historic village of Lauterbrunnen, set back off the main road, about 150 metres from the train station. That makes it a practical anchor for anyone comparing bases, because it shows what valley-floor village lodging looks like against the ledge villages of Wengen and Mürren, where no hotel could be named the same way.

Its published from-rates start at $168.90 (CHF 139) for a Single room and run up to $387.60 (CHF 319) for its top rooms and suites. The room list covers Single, Standard, Superior, Valley View, the Staubbach Room with a waterfall view in the Chalet Sonnenheim next to the main house, the Jungfrau Spa, and the Top Suite. An on-site restaurant covers meals, with a Gletscherstuba, a Wintergarden, a dining room and a garden terrace.

Camping Jungfrau Pitches

Camping Jungfrau AG sits at Weid 406, 3822 Lauterbrunnen, on the valley floor. It is open year-round, with office hours of 08:00-12:00 and 14:30-18:30 daily. Its own site publishes from-prices per night, so these are the only fixed accommodation prices this page can print besides the Silberhorn rates. All pitch prices below are from-rates per night. Electricity in the winter months of December through April is billed separately by meter at CHF 0.50 per kWh.

A winter season pitch costs $2,607.30 (CHF 2,145.55), excluding a season visitor-tax package of $189.00 (CHF 155.55) that the site notes is subject to change.

Camping Jungfrau Rental Cabins

The site also rents fixed cabins and mobile homes. The cheapest, the Herberge, sleeps up to six from $48.10 (CHF 39.60) a night, which undercuts most hotel beds in the valley. The Schilthorn unit is the top of the range at $279.10 (CHF 229.70) for up to five guests.

Valley Hostel Lauterbrunnen

Valley Hostel Lauterbrunnen stands at Fuhren, 3822 Lauterbrunnen, on the valley floor a short walk from the train station and the shops. Its own listing records 92 beds in 26 rooms across three chalets, with a choice of private rooms or multi-bed dorm rooms, which suits couples and dorm travellers under the same roof. No nightly rate is published by the hostel, so this page prints none rather than guessing at a figure.

Mountain Hostel Gimmelwald

Mountain Hostel Gimmelwald offers two room types: shared dorm rooms and private double rooms. It sits in car-free Gimmelwald at 1,364 m, one cableway stop below Mürren, and markets itself on adventure access such as hiking, mountaineering, skydiving and paragliding rather than on comfort or a view from a balcony. It publishes no nightly rate either, so none is printed here, only what its own site actually states about its rooms and its setting.

Kurtaxe Rates and the Guest Card

Every overnight stay in the municipality carries the visitor tax, the Kurtaxe, in all six villages the same way. Adults pay $4.25 (CHF 3.50) per night. Children aged 6 to 16 pay $2.13 (CHF 1.75). Children under 6 pay nothing. You pay it through your accommodation provider, not at a separate office.

The tax unlocks the regional Guest Card, which adds local transport perks to your stay. Budget it in on top of any nightly rate you find, since advertised prices usually exclude it. Season campers at Camping Jungfrau instead pay the flat season package of $189.00 (CHF 155.55) noted on the pitch listing.

Negative Findings, Stated Plainly

This page prints no nightly rate for any hotel in Wengen or Mürren, and only the Silberhorn rates for Lauterbrunnen village. The reason is sourcing, not secrecy. The municipal tourism sites for Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Mürren run their accommodation listings through a client-side search widget, with no server-rendered hotel names, prices or counts retrievable by a plain fetch. Not one named hotel, room count or nightly rate for Wengen or Mürren could be pulled from them.

No ranked source helped either. Searches of the Michelin Guide and Gault&Millau for Lauterbrunnen, Mürren and Wengen returned no parseable listing in the research behind this page.
